Each KPSPTO committee consists of a KPSPTO Board member acting as the committee coordinator, a parent volunteer to Chair the committee, and additional parent volunteers to participate on the committee.

General Volunteer:
Sign up as a general volunteer in case we need additional help for an activity or an event.  We will give you a call and see if you would like to help out.

1^st Grade T-Shirt Project:
Coordinate the creation of the 1^st grade classroom t-shirts.  Duties include contacting the printer and providing simple art materials to the 1^st grade teachers and the art teacher.  You will also distribute a parent letter and coordinate orders for the shirts.  This is a great short-term project!

Yearbook Committee:
This committee takes pictures throughout the year and creates the KPS yearbook.  The committee meets throughout the year to organize the book in coordination with a representative of the yearbook company.  Join if you would like to contribute pictures or be a part of this creative endeavor.  This committee needs to get started as soon as school starts to begin taking pictures!

Fundraising Committees:  
The following committees work closely with Michelle Yorio our Fundraising Coordinator, to implement fundraising efforts from soup to nuts.

Newsletter Committee:
The Newsletter Committee consists of individuals who publish the KPSPTO newsletter.

Hospitality Committee:
This Committee provides refreshments to all General PTO meetings and special events.  Details include ordering and purchasing refreshments, set up and clean up.

Website Committee:
This committee works closely with the KPSPTO Board and parent volunteers to build and maintain the KPSPTO Website.

Scrips Committee:
The Scrips consists of individuals who collect an distribute the KPSPTO Scrips orders.

Field Day Committee:
This committee works closely with the Events Coordinator, Amy Conroy, to recruit and coordinate volunteers for Field Day.  Also, the committee purchases and distributes items needed for the event.

Grant Writing:
The KPSPTO is seeking anyone with experience or interest in creating a grant writing committee.

Beautification Committee:
The Beautification Committee is made up of parents and teachers working together to beautify the school grounds.  Projects may include landscaping and planting as well as fundraising for beautification projects.

After School Program
The KPSPTO is in the process of organizing an after school program. In order for the program to be launched we will need parents to chaperone and possibly teach programs. If you are interested in volunteering or if you would like to teach a class let us know now!

There are also other Committees that are not coordinated by the KPSPTO but rather the Kent Primary School that you may be interested in joining, such as Arts and Education, Spirit and Site Based.  If you are interested in volunteering in any Kent Primary School Committees, you will need to directly contact Joan Pinkerton, Principal of Kent Primary School.
