Welcome to KPS!

Whether you're a parent with your first kindergartener or a familiar face around the corridors of Kent Primary, welcome to YOUR school!

In the past, your KPSPTO has created and hosted many events, programs and services designed to enhance your child's school experience through family activities, presentations and after school classes. This year will be bigger and better than ever! We've got lots in store for you and your family. We'll be more focused on supporting the educational aspects of your child's school this year. One of our goals is to see a SmartBoard in every classroom. We've funded the purchase of two this summer, and we'll be working along with the CCSD to ensure that every child has the chance to explore this necessary technology.

The best way to stay informed is to sign up for our mailing list. Each month, we'll detail upcoming events so you always know what's happening in and around KPS.
If you know of a KPS parent who hasn't signed up yet, please pass it on!

Speaking of knowing stuff, if you have a topic that you feel needs to be shared with the KPS Family, don't hesitate to write up a guest article for our Hot Topic page. All submissions will be reviewed for content and common sense rules apply.

If you have a business that you would like to see advertised on our Community Sponsors page, send a note to president@kpspto.org and I'll send you the rate sheet. Or, if an individual or business would like to make a monetary donation, it is tax-deductible in most cases, (consult your tax professional for details). Your KPSPTO is a registered not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization.
Remember, every dollar that you contribute to your KPSPTO goes to support the many programs and services we provide for all of our kids.

Our Gift Card program is back this year in a big way. Now, along with having the chance to order Gift Cards for things you buy anyway, we'll be offering our most popular cards at all of our events! Great for last minute gifts, staff and bus driver appreciation or any time! The great thing about Gift Cards is that the merchants give a percentage of each sale back to us to support programs and services at KPS. You spend no more than you normally would, and all of our kids benefit. It truly is a win-win.

This Calendar link is a list of our calendar of events for the 2009-10 school year. Please remember that no one expects you to show up for every event. You're busy. It's ok. Me too. We offer so many types of events in the hope that everyone will get to participate in something that interests them. If an event catches your eye, come on by...we'd love to see you. Of course, details will always come home in the backpacks and forms will be available online.

If you have an idea for an event that you think should be happening at KPS, let us know. Consider chairing a committee. Write up a brief proposal and send it to me. We need you, and your fresh ideas to keep things going strong for our kids.
